Become an Egg Donor

Become an Egg Donor in Miami and South Florida

Similar to in vitro fertilization (IVF), the egg (oocyte) donation process is a method of assisted reproduction that allows a woman with healthy, fertile eggs to donate her eggs to those whose eggs are not viable.

Egg donation involves harvesting eggs from the ovary of a donor, fertilizing them with the sperm of a patient’s partner or sperm donor, and subsequently, transferring the developing embryo(s) into the recipient’s uterus. A resulting pregnancy will be genetically related to the intended father and gestated by the intended mother.

Our Egg Donation Program

IVFMD is proud to have a flourishing egg donation program, led by a dedicated team of reproductive endocrinologists and staff that provide individualized management and personalized care of all donors and recipients from the start to the finish of their treatment cycle.

We have designed a program dedicated to evaluating the medical and psychological profiles of all donors and adhere to the strict guidelines set forth by oversight organizations with a specialty in assisted reproductive technologies.

How to Become an Egg Donor with IVFMD

The first step toward becoming an egg donor is an initial screening questionnaire, which helps our team of experts determine if there is any reason you should not donate. Please click here to access the questionnaire.

Once our Donor Recruiter has received your questionnaire, we will contact you to explain the program in detail and review the screening you need to undergo, assessing your eligibility as a potential donor. These evaluations and tests, which are free of charge to you, will be scheduled according to your menstrual cycle and your daily schedule.

Once approved to donate your eggs, you will be asked to sign a consent form giving IVFMD permission to carry out the process of egg donation, which your spouse will also need to sign if you are married.

We will then establish a time for the start of the donation cycle.

Egg Retrieval Procedure

The process of donating eggs requires three weeks of frequent visits to our office for blood tests and ultrasound exams. You will also receive daily injections of medicine (using a very small needle) to make some of your eggs grow and mature, at which point we remove them from the ovaries through the vagina via a minor surgical procedure done in the comfort of our office.

Following the retrieval procedure, you will be able to go home within a few hours, but must limit your activities for the next few days. We will also schedule a follow-up appointment with your physician after the procedure to ensure your optimal health.
