Connie Alford, MD, FACOG, is a Diplomate to the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is board certified in both Obstetrics and Gynecology and Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. She is a Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is a member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, Society of Reproductive Surgeons, and Society for Male Reproductive Urology. She has participated as a reviewer for Fertility and Sterility, one of the sentinel journals in the field of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. Dr. Alford has presented at numerous national scientific meetings, and has published in several peer-reviewed journals and academic textbooks. Her clinical interests are management of genetic disorders as they relate to fertility, fertility preservation, fibroid disorders, polycystic ovarian syndrome, and infertility.
Dr. Alford majored in Microbiology and Cell Science and minored in Chemistry at the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL. She received a Master’s degree in Biology, with special concentration in Molecular Microbiology, at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. She returned to the University of Florida for her medical degree. She also completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Florida. Her fellowship training was at the Combined Federal Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD. During her fellowship, she was also an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. The subject of her research thesis was the epigenetics of gametogenesis.
A devoted mother of two, Dr. Alford loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys traveling, water sports, and dancing.
