Dr. Karstaedt is a Fertility Lifestyles Counselor at IVFMD. She is certified by the American Board of Sexologists and is a member of numerous professional societies such as the Obesity Medicine Association (formally the American Society of Bariatric Physicians), the Center for Medical Weight Loss, the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, and the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She has also served as the Medical Director of South Florida Vitality MD.
Prior to joining IVFMD, Dr. Karstaedt worked in the Ovum Donation department at the Mount Sinai IVF Clinic, where she collaborated with Dr. Maria Bustillo. In 1998, she joined Dr. Bustillo at IVFMD and became part of the Third-Party Reproductive Services Department. She has also worked as an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
She studied medical weight management and nutrition, and she completed her medical training and residency in family therapy in South Africa. She is licensed to practice medicine in both New York and Florida.
Passionate about helping her patients achieve their optimum lifestyle, Dr. Karstaedt focuses her practice on teaching patients how to supplement their treatments and prescription medications with a wholesome diet and regular exercise for the best possible outcomes.
Her positive “can do” spirit keeps her excited about life and her passion for health is contagious. She loves coaching people to success and motivates her patients every step of the way. Dr Karstaedt enjoys keeping fit, plays tennis and being healthy. She volunteers and is a member of the School Board of Trustees.
