Dr.
Mansfield has been an integral member of the medical team since 1990 and
a practicing medical psychotherapist for thirty years. She is active in
the Mental Health Professional Group, a division of the American Society
for Reproductive Medicine dedicated to enhancing knowledge and
understanding of the psychological and emotional aspects of reproductive
health.
Because a
diagnosis of infertility can be a potentially overwhelming and
emotionally challenging time, Dr. Mansfield offers comprehensive
counseling services that provide guidance and support to patients
throughout the treatment process. Patients who are contemplating third
party reproduction assistance such as gamete donation and surrogacy may
find that counseling can help to reduce stress and restore a sense of
balance and hope.
Dr.
Mansfield is a member of the American Psychological Association, the
American Society for Reproductive Medicine, the Society for Assisted
Reproductive Technology, and a clinical associate of the American Board
of Medical Psychotherapists. She is also a Fellow of the Royal Society
of Medicine in London, England and has served as a member of the adjunct
faculties of Miami Dade Community College, Nova University, and the
University of Miami School of Medicine.
